So, my dad always is telling me I tip people too much whenever I pay for things.

I bought a 14 dollar dinner tonight at a sit-down place, and gave her a 5 dollar tip. I see that as being reasonable. But he things I should have given a two dollar one.

Do you guys have a rule of thumb for tipping, like 10% or something? Do you tip more then most people. Anything like that really, please tell. I guess I am just rather generous towards workers like that.

i tip them more when they're cute/sexy

haha

Same here, it does play in. Just the overall enjoyment of the meal, between the food, service, and prettyness of the girl.

I tip based on friendliness and good service and I use my own judgement on what would be a good tip.

I tip you if you deserve it.

Or if it's a big group of my friends and I and I can see the waitress/waiter is struggling I'll give a nice tip.

its 15% here.

Oh yeah, isn't it a mandatory tipping system down there?

Good service will mean a tip usually bigger than the average person would give. Average or worse means a tip around 25 cents or whatever chump change i have

I don't tip.
Leelyy Posted at 9:04 pm on Jan. 9, 2009
I usually rate them.  If they were REALLY nice to me, I'd rate them an 8, and give them an $8 tip, unless I had a very large bill.
:)

I have a base 10%, and add extra depending on how good the service was.

Typically, I tip around $5-10.

I tip about 10%, but deduct and add by the way they were a help to me :/
