One of my very good band friends is graduating from high school this year.  He's on his way to becoming a band director (low brass guy) and I want to get him a grad gift reflecting that.

Someone mentioned getting him a baton set but a) it's really expensive and b) it's like buying someone a mouthpiece--it really depends on what he prefers in a baton.

So, if anyone has any ideas on what would be a good gift, I'd really appreciate it.

Take him to get a baton. It would be a really nice thoughtful gift that shows you care and want to invest into one of his favourite hobbies.
