Have your friend write out the dream, in his/her own words. Then consider, how does the dream make your friend feel? What colors does your friend see in the dreams? What images stand out in the dream? What are you friend's associations with these images and colors? Then consider one part of the dream that may stick out in particular. Have your friend use free association with that particular part. From this, your friend should be able to interpret the dream.
