I heard about this from my friend, but it can't happen because I am going on holiday in October and I need to go! Anyway I agree with people who have already said that if this was really going to happen, they wouldn't let them do it so I guess we should be safe. Don't worry about it because even if it does happen, it will happen so quickly that we won't notice.

| Ok, why would they even try such an experiment that IF something should go wrong it kills the universe? (not very fair). Apparently their were Scientist's who went to the Human Rights Union to stop them from switching this thing on "saying that this affects every one's right to live", but the union turned them down! Why is it that Joe Public pays for the affects of these Damn 'Curious' Scientist's!? |

| the Large hadron accelerator.
It is a machine that is going to be used to re-create the universe mere milliseconds after the big bang.
NOW
It may cause some black holes...which if steven hawkin is to be believed, these black holes will evaporate due to "hawkins radiation"
however, this radiation has never been tested or proved, so there's no CONCRETE EVIDENCE as to wether it exists, or wether it doesn't....
NOW NOW
if it don't exist....this black hole may continue to suck matter in from it's immediate surroundings......which just happens to be The Earth.
WHEN AND IF
....this happens, the Black Hole will get bigger, the Earth will get smaller, until the Black hole eats the Earth and replaces it......

Oh yeah, this will kill every living matter on the planet......

Still the chances of this happening are like..........

one in fifty million?

Have a happy September 10th :) |

| basically, some scientists, (swiss i beliece) are going to try and replicate the big bang, but on a smaller scale,
and as they try to do this there is a small posibility that they might create a black whole which will effectively suck everything in existance on earth inside itself in a matter of seconds,
they will either accomplish their mission and prove that the big bang was how the earth was formed, fail and it not work, or make a mistake and create a black hole,
but the implosion of the earth would happen so rapidly that no one will feel it or be aware of it, everything will just cease.

the only comforting thing is that it will get the dutch first! |

| well they are going to be sending the atoms round at a speed around 90% of the speed of light then they are going to make them collide with the thought that matter will be broken into many peaces and then go on to recreate the big bang |

| If memory serves, one of the purposes of this is to prove the existence of other dimensions to the four we know of currently, on top of the obvious proving the existence of theoretical particles. I really can't wait for this :D for the record, it's at CERN, in Switzerland, not Sweden. |

| That seems coolies, isit something that will generate power or something and you would need hardly any of it to generate power for millions of homes? |
