Does anyone know how to make hydrogen using only household stuff and easily obtainable things?

If you want a better and more consistent stream of bubbles take some aluminum foil over the electrodes and get about a 1/2 to 1 square inch piece so you have more surface area.

Remember when splitting water you're going to get twice as much Hydrogen as Oxygen.  The oxygen can be fun to use in and of itself.  Also remember when removing the Hydrogen  container keep the opening facing DOWN because Hydrogen is lighter than air.

Running an electric current through water decomposes the 02 and H2 molecules in water. It produces it in small quantities, and it's called electrolysis. That's all I know.

Mythbusters ftw.

Make hydrogen what? You can't simply mix chemicals together and get the "H" molecule...

pish posh of course you can

 No you can't.  You'll get H2 molecules.  :P

i'm sure he only wants to blow sumthin up, so that'll do

LoL, true   I was also thinking about making a mini zeppelin xD

here what you do, get yourself two glasses, stick them upside down, inside a bucket of water. now go get yourself, A) like, 7 or 8 9-volt batteries hooked up together or B) and old extension cord (probably a bad way to go) anyways now stick yourself in a metal catalyst, nickel, platinum, iron. any metal should do. hook up one end of the battery to one side of the catalyst and the other side, to the other end.

drop the catalyst in the water between the two glasses.

you have your own hoffman, apparatus.

oh yeah, it's simple, we chemistry majors do it all of the time... just dehydrate hydrogen peroxide!  Ha... kidding

One does not simply "make" hydrogen.

Extract, if you want to be precise.

You put an orange in the microwave for 25 seconds. Dip it in salt, then you flip it over and you have hydrogen
MustangJoe Posted at 12:48 pm on Nov. 3, 2008
you can make it form water but only in small quantities....

put two leads from a battery charger into the water.....
