Hey everyone, I know this doesn't really belong in this category, but I'm in a hurry. I apologize in advance for any misspellings. And I also realize that this is kinda cheating, but I'm only asking for an idea.....

Ok, so about a month ago i was nominated to receive a sort of scholarship and travel to some faraway place to study animals... Well, in order to get the scholarship, I have to fill out this application thing and the questions aren't that easy. I was wondering if you guys could help me think of an item that is commonly thrown away and invent a new use for it that hasn't been thought of before...

It'd be really helpful if there weren't any wisecracks,
Thanks!

Dont YOU need to earn the scholarship?

What sorts of things to you chuck away?
Do you mean like packaging and bottletops and stuff? Or bigger, one-of things that could actually have a purpose?

Yes, and I said that in the post... I know it is kinda cheating, but I'm at a blank and all I ask for is an idea, not your whole answer to the question...
I believe the question refers to anything that is thrown away unless it is perishable, so yeah, anything that can be made into or used for something else...

old tires are commonly thrown away, but they can be used for insulation (in new earth friendly houses) which would result in minimal heating costs.
