Reading the last article, this idea is based on theoretical models between plants and animals, and that Darwin suggested a plant brain could be located at the root apex. His idea got supported because many compounds go there and are from there, so it acts like a coordinating center similar to animal brains. They said there are no axons in plants and they found that many compounds serve same functions between plants and animals for transporting molecules. There's also action potentials which is reasonable to believe but they go to suggest there's a plant intelligence and plant memory. These ideas in the article are very broad and they said there's intelligence because plants respond to ever-changing environments. Lots of it is analogous to human brains without ever finding a plant brain, they suggested it may be somewhere in a given area because that given area is analogous to human brains.
