This contest is for all of the members of GoLiveWire who feel up to the challenge of virtually conquering the stock market, playing against other members, for a 2 month run time.

Who: All members of GoLiveWire are welcome to participate in this contest. Entry is allowed from the day the contest starts until the day it ends, however, the earlier you join, the more chance you have of winning!

What: A competition to see who is the most successful stock market player on GoLiveWire. The market itself will be on another site, that hosts private stock market games.

Where: http://vse.marketwatch.com/Game/Homepage.aspx
Game Name: Go Live
Password: tavtav

When: This contest will be held from April 24th, and runs for two months, until June 24th. Which, for some members, is the day you will get out of school.

Why: To improve your business experience in real life while having a chance at points and having fun at the same time.

Additional Info: Well, each members starts off with 100 000 e-dollars, and once in the game, almost anything goes. Each member must make their account name 'LW(Insert username here)'.
Finally, I am not sure if I want to use both USD and CAD, or just one of the two, although I will most likely make it just USD, to stick to one currency.

Edit:
The Game has started!!

You were even in first when you were playing.

I'll have another one started up with a longer run time once my home computer is fixed up...

Holy shit, I totally forgot about this.

HEY. I didn't bet it all on Rick's Cabaret. First I split it between Rick's Cabaret and the people who make Smirnoff.

I guess 22nd is what I get for not checking on this for like a month. I was first for like, may.

I can't hear you all the way down there in twenty-third, har har.

I'm sort of getting lazy, too. I lost like, five thousand in thirty seconds because I tried to go for 2000 stocks of a company worth $130 a share. FIVE THOUSAND.

I'm rooting for you! As long as 4est doesn't win. I mean, that'd be neat if he won... but he bet it all on rick's cabaret. You know what my motto is? Fuck rick's cabaret.

There's a new champion in town, baby.
Late joiner.

I was in 2nd place for like... a day. Then I didn't sell because I was lazy, and now I'm back on the bottom. Hrmhph.

Damn, I'm last, I lost everything... And I was among the first three, but then i lost it all :( . Now i dont wanna play anymore...

well, don't gave up yet;)

I'm not in the competition, but you can turn around anything;)
just don't focus your stocks around 1 stock.

Besides, this is not really an investment competition, more like a speculation competition, so a lot of luck is involved, so don't be sad:P

Remember to wake up early every morning when the stock market opens to catch the earliest news and stuff. You'll need fast movers, so focus on small-cap. Look for volume changes etc. Other companies in the same industry may serve as a good indicator too:)

Always check all your stocks at noon (in fact as often as possible). If a small cap start dropping past 5%, it's likely to drop more, because ppl are dumping, so sell those fast;)
