Do you realize that the communications that are taking place on this FORUM would take DAYS back in the seventies?

A forum like this wouldn't have even been possible in the 70s, much less the 80s.  They were only beginning to take form in the 90s into what we have now in the 00s.

The main thing E-mail and the internet have done in particular has been making global communication cheap.  In the 70s, if you were in New York and needed to contact somebody in Tokyo right away, you'd have to make a long distance call.  This could easily amount to a good $5 - $10.  Nowadays, though, you can just shoot that person in Tokyo an E-mail at no cost at all.  In fact, just thinking that you have to actually pay to talk to somebody on the other side of the world seems like a ridiculous concept to many of us today.  As a result, this makes corporations have a much more inexpensive and easier time managing all of their resources and operations at both the global and national levels.

Welcome to 5 years ago. In 70 years time, I can't see Emails evolving much further but the possibilities of the internet are endless...
