A 1500 Kg space probe is orbiting the Earth at a distance of 25000 Km from the Earth's center. The probe is hit head on by a 1000 kg meteor moving at 1000 kph. After the completely inelastic collision, will the meteorite and crumpled probe will fall together into a lower orbit? Find the radius of a new stable orbit for this wreckage.
I got 10000km, is that correct?
