If you was having a child and after running test doctors found out they would have a chronic illness. In which your child will most likely be in constant pain or discomfort through-out their whole lives and you have no idea how long they would live. Would you abort them?

Having a chronic illness myself, I guess I wouldn't blame my parents if they did abort me. I suffer everyday but enough about me I wanna hear what you think.

"It doesnt hurt the "baby" at all. Now how much pain they feel those 2 seconds I dont know. But in the long run it will hurt no one but the mother. And shes the one doing it, so thats her problem. "

This argument is hypocritical. In the first 2 sentences, you contradict yourself. Pain is pain, regardless for how long. A constant physical hurting and a 2 second hurting is still pain. I'm beginning to think you may believe pain requires a minimum amount of time for your argument to be true. However, due to definitions in the dictionary:

"physical suffering or distress, as due to injury, illness, etc. "

There is no involvement of time, so the first lines are dismissed.

The next line: "But in the long run it will hurt no one but the mother" is another contradiction. First you say it will hurt nobody then you say it will only hurt the mother. The mother is not nobody. This line is dismissed.

Later, you stated:

"No i didnt. As long as it doesnt hurt SOMEONE ELSE its fine. So the person making the decision will of course have to live with it cause its up to her. And you cant possibly say that it will hurt her, unless she feels shes made the wrong decision and thats her problem, so it shouldnt be illegal. "

Unfortunately, this is a different argument. You clearly stated before that it "won't hurt the 'baby' at all", and now you say "As long as it doesnt hurt SOMEONE ELSE its fine". These are 2 seperate arguments.

For this second argument, I don't follow your train of thought. It seems you're suggesting that because it isn't painful for the mother (unless she made the wrong decision but let's assume she didn't), then it is legal. Seems to me as though anything without pain is legal, so make abortion legal. Hold on, in your other argument you stated the fetus does experience pain, so it should be illegal. This makes no sense.

And then this: "eitherway i know my feelings on this are logical. its common sence". This just made me laugh. Thanks for the new signature by the way, xdreaxbabyx.

abortion hurts noone? nah the kids just a no one right.

no matter if its a fetus it still hurts. and it hurts the mother cuz shell end up regretting it. theres no way she wouldn't. maybe not at first but eventually.

Yes, everything that hurts must be banned. Which is why when your child needs a vaccination, you don't get it for them because the needle would hurt the arm. What evidence do you have that the fetus experiences pain? At what stage in the development of the fetus are abortions performed? At what point does a fetus have a nervous system which is developed enough for it to perceive pain?

  Oh, you don't know? Sur-fucking-prise.

As for the topic at hand. Were I mother, yes, I'm fairly sure I would choose to abort the child. A baby is a product of natural reproductive processes, not a "gift from God." There's no more reason to believe that the child had a special purpose than to believe its purpose was to cause me to abort it and have me go through that experience. Talk of divine purposes and plans is irrelevant when we can't know them. It's just as likely that abortion is the goal as that birth is the goal. Why force a child to suffer? Why give the child the choice when the child doesn't even know it has the chance to live? When in utero, the child, even though it is on the road to birth is still practically theoretical, and as distasteful as it may be to some, I would treat it as such.

theres a difference between going thru pain then dieing & being hurt & healing.

 its LIFE.
that kid will never get it back. its stupid.
they were broght into this world for a reason. not just for u to abort them because of your negative thoghts.

If god hates abortion so much why would he let us?

to test you.
its kind of liek temptation in a way. dont quote me cuz i didnt say it is temptation,

thats like saying if god didnt want us to do wrong why would he place the tree with that fruit by adam n eve and tell them not to eat from it. he gave them the abil;ity to make choices.

and whether you know right from wrong

Well, I cannot have children, as I am male, so I guess I can't answer.
anonymous2 Posted at 11:10 pm on June 25, 2008
i think probably yes
but that's as a 15 year old girl who has no current desire for children....
crazy4you Posted at 4:53 pm on June 25, 2008
i typically think abortions are wrong, but if i were to know that the child would have SERIOUS problems throughout their life and couldn't function, i would maybe consider abortion if it was very early on in the pregnancy.
