I went yesterday morning to go get some more dog food for my puppy. I just got two of the normal sized cans, like these.

And now they're completely gone. So is it normal for a six week puppy to eat this much?

Sorry if it's a dumb question, I've never had a puppy before. Oh, and her paw's fine too.

Puppies will EAT, especially if they're a larger breed dog.

I would get them some hard food to mix in with the canned. Puppies will eat about 3 times a day and slowly, their food needs to be cut down lower and lower as they grow.

You are going to make her fat, dogs can eat more than they should

limit her. say like half a can in the morning, half a can at night. or something like this ( depending on her size, breed etc etc) also make sure its food ment for puppies, it will help her grow and give her the nutrients she needs to be healthy and strong and grow properly.

like other posters have stated, don't just keep putting food out. your puppy will eat damn near anything put out in front of her. so it's up to you to limit the intake.

They'll keep eating if you keeping putting food out... our dog is 6kg overweight and she gets fed twice a day with special nuts now haha so watch out :p

Yes it is. You have to give her normal portions, small ones and puppy food.

Maybe just 2/3 times a day and a small portion. NOT THAT MUCH. Depends on her weight though. I'd consult a vet.

If you give her all of that she'll eat it... She won't mind but that doesn't mean it's healthy. It's important to train her cuz if not she'll get unhealthy and I'm sure you don't want that.

if you keep filling up her bowl, usually dogs will keep eating.just stick to the serving size for her age and it will be all goood

you need to limit your dogs food yourself
theyll eat till their sick and then carry on if you let them
Rebecca li Posted at 12:06 pm on July 15, 2008
Yeah, as long as you give it to her, she'll eat it. Don't let her though, only put a bit in her bowl at meal times, otherwise she'll get fat.
