Long story short, I was talking to my friend about auto-racing and this girl in class butts in to give us her shtick about the "stupid waste of fuel", how it "contributes to global warming" and how by watching and supporting the sport we were affecting future generations and so on. After a few exchanges we were judged to be "immoral" as well as "retarded" for enjoying racing!

Well, I just found a way to shut these people up, who also regularly harass SUV owners:
http://www.sonomanews.com/articles/2005/04/08/news/police_-_sheriff_reports/records01.txt

Point out to them what immense hypocrites they are by quoting some of the following:

"...livestock are responsible for 18 percent of greenhouse gas emissions, a bigger share than that of transport."
Livestock's Long Shadow

The study Diet, Energy, and Global Warming also labels meat consumption as the single most destructive action one can do to the environment.

"Livestock account for 15% to 20% of (overall) global methane emissions.î (Worldwatch Institute) (Durning, Alan, and Brough, Holly, "Taking Stock: animal Farming and the Environment," Worldwatch Paper 103, July 1991)

"...a kilogram of grain-fed beef raised in Japan is responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions and other pollution than driving for 3 hours while leaving all the lights on back home."
http://www.ehponline.org/docs/2008/11034/abstract.html

It doesn't matter which way the environmentalist cuts it, they are still massive hypocrites. If they don't shut up do us all a favor and slap them across the face.

Come back in 50 years and tell me if you still think going "green" is unnecessary.

Sure thing, but when the time comes at least I'll know I wasn't a hypocrite like you.

Dude, I never said I was a super-environmentalist. It's a gradual process! But you can't completely ignore what's going on. Even recycling an aluminum can instead of throwing it away is something.

that amounts to nothing. As the sources said, eating animals causes 18% of green house gasses and causes by far the worst environmental damage considerign all the rainforests torn down to feed the animals. you could recycle thousands of cans but still eatign 1 lb of chicken would negate your stupidity.

Which is why it's a start.

It won't even take that long. It is supposed to become deadly hot in 2050.

Well, at least we actually try to reverse the damage that people have inflicted on the Earth.
Sure, livestock may contribute gases into the atmosphere but it's not like we can just fix that problem easily....what would YOU want to do, kill all the livestock in the world? I bet your not a vegetarian. The amount of pollution that is given out by cars is something that we actually can REDUCE.

No, I'm not a vegetarian, but that's besdies the point because I don' tcare about the environment (If I did care about earth I would be a vegetarian instead of a hypocrite)

and by not eating animals like the sources I quoted say, you are making the biggest action to stop environmental damage becauase reduced demand results in reduced production. If everyone were to eat less/be vegetarian that would be far better than just switching to an overpriced, ugly ass car.

since when do only environmentalists use livestock?
  most of the population does......

  so whats your point?
they are right... if we all rode bikes... we could help the earth.. its not that hard of a concept..

but they shouldnt shove it down ur throat.

my point is environemntalists are fakes because they promote doing all the things to help the earth (don't drive, don't enjoy this and this and this, etc) but they dont do it themselves. If they werent all phonies they would be vegetarian.

haha yeah thats what you think.
you dont make the rules for environmentalism... seriously i dont get your point.. your mad that people care about our world?

and btw im a vegetarien so im not defending myself

Rules? All environmetnalist say:

we should DO EVERYTHIGN WE CAN t help the earth and by not doing so, we are damning our children!

So my example shows that by eating animals every who calls themselves "green" or "environmentalist" or whatever is a hypocrite.

You can't care about the earth and be a hypocrite.

Well then they are not real environmentalists. But their are people who do want to help the earth without throwing about facts.
Plus livestock (I mean animals) are natural. If it were just them then global warming would not be happening. We are the biggest contributor if you add everything together. It is solely our fault that the world is in the state that it is. If we don't do something about it then we die lol
But I agree that stupid girls like that should shut up or follow their beliefs.
