i havent ever come across anyone that is emotionally attached to their fish the same way they are to their dog or cat or any other pet

you cant cuddle your fish and they dont purr or have tails what wag. alot of people still feel close to their pets that arent as emotional as cats or dogs. i got really upset when a snake died, it was because he seemed so little and poor. i found him and gave him to my friend but he choked on a worm, there was no way my friend could have known it would happen but it did.

you can become emotionally attache dot any pet, even scaley ones.

You can't really interact with a fish... you can't understand their personality, you can't see their emotions.  For my past dog, and my current dog... you can see in their eyes how they feel.

That being said, I did have a fish when I was younger that lasted 3 years.  He ended up passing away, and I cried and buried him and everything.

Cause fish are boring.

You can't really interact..and they don't have personalities.

I AM! I love my fish...hes called John and hes lovely =].

And my friend Poggle has 2 fish, one called speedy and one called bertie and she loves them too - shes scared for them to die =[.

Maybe it's because people can't really play with fish, and all they do is swim around in a tank.

Dogs and cats tend to show more of a personality.  We can pet them, walk them, and even play with them.  These animals are even able to come up to us and make us feel better when we're down.  Fish do nothing.

i know. no one really does.
samantha89 Posted at 10:59 am on Dec. 27, 2008
i dont like fish...its easier to become attached to a furry animal that you can play with and cuddle and take on walks and things like that.
Tylerrr Posted at 10:59 am on Dec. 27, 2008
I guess it's possible.
Just unlikely cause I mean, you can't do anything with it.

i didnt realise my fish was even dead.
EnticingMind Posted at 10:58 am on Dec. 27, 2008
With other pets you can touch them and interact with them, with a fish you can't.
