My golden lab had to get an ultrasound recently for a benign liver tumor, and there's a possibility they'll have to operate to remove it. In order to do the ultrasound, they had to shave her entire belly - she seems to be quite sad without her fur, it's probably very cold and I've heard that labs are naturally very conscious of how they look. Does anyone know how long it takes for the fur to grow back?

Can you get those for big dogs like labradors? I've only seen smaller ones...

I'm not sure about the hair growing back, I imagine it would take some months to grow back to normal.
Until then, why not buy her a doggie sweater?

Yeah I really hope she's ok... It's not a life threatening tumor but it's squeezing something else which means she can't retain water for very long - so she basically gets dehydrated in like half an hour if she's not constantly drinking, which she refuses to do. She loves swimming as well and I don't want to take her swimming until at least some fur grows back - I can only imagine how cold it would be for her!!!

my lab had to have a scan like that and it took about 8 months to grow back to match the rest but only about 5 to grow back to looking almost normal lol
