wouldn't it be easier to just a standard wire cage

that shit looks way too small and... odd shaped

You do want to make sure that they have flooring that not all mesh and wire. Than can be bad for their feet.

usually the wire cages have the plastic landings, though. SuperPet is a good brand for it. the walls being wire is good exercise for them, otherwise.

bumblefoot is a bitch though, yes. cheap cages from the feed store are usually the ones with the wire landings that you want to avoid. bumblefoot can lead to a really nasty infection that can kill your pet, and be extremely painful up until death. i've only dealt with it in rats, but i imagine it's even more difficult in smaller rodents.

Fuck I'd hate to live in that.

And DO NOT use hamster balls. They're terrifying death contraptions. Can you imagine running in your own poop? Build a ham run.

Here some more information.

Hamsters use the bars of wire cages to help with their need to chew (they can die if they are not allowed to chew), and they are a great way for them to stay exercised. Wire cages offer the best ventilation, and are easiest to clean.

Habitrails offer the least possible amount of ventilation (as you can see from the photo you posted, there is hardly any at all) and are difficult to clean and cannot be used for proper exercise.

NO. Those habitrails are horrible for their health. Imagine living where the smell of your own urine and feces cannot escape.

They need a wire cage, or a ten gallon tank with a wire cage topper to allow for the most possible airflow.

It will most likely work, I've had four types of hamsters and used a cage just like that for them and there was no issue.

Are you buying Pikachu's? It looks like a bunch of pokeballs.... Okay... that was nerdy.

I'm looking for somewhere that lists the sizes of the tubes. Wouldn't want it to end up being too small. But I can't find anything at the moment.

So did you used to have dwarf hamsters in there?
