I really wanted to get my nape pierced for a while, but I know those kind of piercings can be difficult and reject a lot etc.

So I went to the same place I got my lip pierced, the staff there is very knowledgeable and trustworthy, and I asked one of the people there about the piercing I wanted.

He said nape piercings, using a surface bar, usually take a year to heal and it's because they take up such a large area inside your body that they take so long and often reject.

But there's this new thing that he's been doing. He has these single circular things, I can't remember what they're called, but they look just like the flat part that would stick out of your skin on the end of a surface bar, and they basically get embedded into your skin. They heal super fast and aren't very likely to get infected. So I could just get two of those instead of a surface bar and it would be much easier for me to take care of.

I was wondering if anyone has heard of these and knows what they're called. It's not super important since I'll just go there in a few days and get it done, but I wanted to look up some stuff about them and maybe see what other piercings people have gotten with them since I'm not sure if I want the nape one anymore.

Dermal anchors.
While others are saying 'microdermals' - they're kinda not the same thing.
Dermal anchors are larger and have more base under the skin as they're held in by feet that extend out, while microdermals generally have just a circular base not much larger than the 'upwards' side.

If he knew they were going in your nape, he would probably go with dermal anchors [not microdermals] because in my experience, microdermals come out a lot easier. I've had a total of six microdermals on my face and three have come out for no apparent reason on separate occasions.

sounds like youre talking about microdermals.

also there's no way a nape will take a year to heal..

I don't know a lot about piercings, but sounds a bit like a microdermal? In which case, ask Dissilusioned, she has one. Looks rather fab, as well.

Yep, that would be it. Thank you very much.
