There is a separate sticky for discussion of the Twilight film. Click here to get to it!

As anyone who frequents this forum will know, there have recently been a large amount of topics about the 'Twilight' series by Stephanie Meyer. In the hope of consolidating some of the discussion, I have decided to create a general topic.

Please use this topic to discuss:

  • Whether or not you have read the books and whether or not you're planning to
  • What you thought of the books
  • Your expectations for future books
  • The books in general

Please click here to read the first chapter of Breaking Dawn. Discussion of this chapter should be limited to this topic.

If you have a topic related to the books that would benefit from more in-depth discussion, then please feel free to post your own topic, but we will expect most issues to be contained to this topic and other topics will be locked or deleted.

The Twilight series consists of Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

The plot is centred around Bella Swan, a young woman who falls in love with a vampire, Edward Cullen.

    hate romantic novels!

Cause you don't get to have a romantic moment in real life. bahhaaa looser XP

Or possibly because they have a great deal of experience with romance and know exactly how unrealistic romance novels are?

There is a Twilight parody book that apparently came out today; first chapter can be read here: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20317217,00.html

(You're gonna have to highlight the whole link and copy it)

    It's called Nightlight.  Very amusing.

Of course, the Twihards raise a stink about it in the comments. Why so srs? I don't see why people can't understand that a parody's all in good fun. It's not like the writer is a hater, because they're knowledgeable enough about the series. Usually parody-writers are fans of the title they're spoofing, anyway. I'm a big HP and LotR fan and do not take any parodying of these titles in that light; I love parodies.

Yes it is; however, I don't feel sorry for someone who uses their rape as a justification for brutal murders.

No she doesn't. She cares that Bella is having a baby because she, Rosalie, cannot have a baby. If Bella didn't have a kid, Rosalie would've still treated her the same way she treated her throughout the other three books: like something to scrape off her shoe.

wrt the rape storyline, I wouldn't feel too sorry for someone who then brutally murdered her rapists, personally.

I think that being raped is something that changes your life 100%

I FEEL SO BAD FOR ROSALIE HALE!!!!!!!!!

    Why? She's a bitch.

She was raped and left for dead... I thought she was a bitch but, she's like that because she's so vain, but that's it. I mean, she really cares about Bella.

Cleolinda is my main source for Twilight lulz.

Also, the sparkledo is amazing. And by amazing, I mean hi-fucking-larious.

Just in case you guys haven't read this:

    http://community.livejournal.com/m15m/19551.html?thread=3667551

Twilight in Fifteen Minutes, if you're up for a laugh. ;)

Also, did you hear about the Twilight dildo?  It sparkles, of course.  And you're supposed to keep it in the fridge for maximum effect.  Get it?  So it's cold like vampire peen.

More amusing rather than disturbing, like the whole womb thing was.

rachaelxcore Posted at 5:01 pm on Sep. 7, 2009
    God, I hate Twilight.

I agree with what Stephen King said about Smeyer.

    And vampires should not sparkle.

YOU CAN'T COMPARE HARRY POTTER WITH TWILIGHT! For me, Harry Potter is so much better.

I love all of them but Breaking Dawn was def my fav. I love Renesmee although you can't see her she seems really cut I think she made the right choice with Edward he seems perfect for her. I never expected Jacob to Imprint on Renesmee I'm sorry people who haven't read them all yet.

Why is it that only the people who hate Twilight seem to post in here? Seems odd to me.

because the fans don't look for the sticky. it is a very ignored topic
