I hate this Russian guilt.

I mean most of us are not ashamed of our past but there are certain people who have a guilt towards our past.

Its annoying too!

We have to apologize...

For our Soviet Past.

You know what?

Im proud of the Soviet Past.

Gorbachev...kinda stupid =/ Lenin had a sexy head. Brezhnev had sexy eyebrows.

The worst thing the Soviet Union did (besides killing millions of Ukrainians for their resistance to collective farming, and some stuff during WWII) was forcing all artists, authors, etc. to conform to the socialist realism artform, thereby destroying all artistic progress in Russia at the time (which Russia was rich in and has always had a very rich past in literature, art, etc. until quite recently).

But that's nothing to apologize for.  Hell, Russian individuals don't even have to feel shame in it.  Fact is, most Russians today had nothing to do with the Soviet government - most who lived under it were merely citizens of it, which is hardly the same thing as being responsible for the atrocities committed by the USSR.  Collective guilt is silly (just as collective pride is).  You have nothing to apologize for.
