Is racism morally wrong? If not why? If so why?

This is for a Finals project I just need to get some opinions from a variety of sources and the professor didn't say we couldn't use the internet.

Morals vary between people of different cultures and ideologies.

Morals vary inside of these cultures and ideologies.

Therefore - you can bet your ass there probably isn't one thing that is considered morally wrong to everyone.

Racism also varies. One person will give a different definition than the other.
And another will overuse the term and maybe someone else will "underuse" it.

Racism - in my eyes - is only to be defined as hatred towards anther group.

Ethnocentrism is what many would call "Supremacy" and equate with "Racism" but I separate the words because they are two very, very different things - keeping in mind I'm neither racist nor ethnocentric.

Racism is a commonly accepted practice in many countries.

The real "Racism" of the world is hidden - and the false "racism" is portrayed as existent and at large.

I think you found your answer

morality is not a set of absolute laws, so technically no.  However, in today's society in most developed western countries (for example the one you live in) the general consensus is that it is morally wrong.

Keep in mind that racism =/= prejudice.  Racism is institutionalized in some form and its not judgment but its also action of some kind based on that judgment...

Yea its wrong. But I think most people, weather they admit it or not, have a group of people they dislike...

Ethnicity goes beyond the color of one's skin. It goas as far as one nations history and even farther.

Racism is not morally wrong.
