The girl across the street went to South Africa, met a guy, got married and came back to the US. He became a citizen. He's white, as are many in So. Africa. He IS an African Americanthats nationalityFunny how ppl keep confusing race nationality and ethnicity all over the place. Wished that old race forum FAQ was still posted so people would figure it out.

Quote: from kidd rune at 10:42 pm on July 3, 2009 Odd that almost 1/3 of "African-Americans" isn't even African. False. NOT 1/3 of African Americans. Just because African Americans have 30% caucasian ancestry DOES NOT MEAN that 1/3 of all African Americans are not from Africa. That is a pretty stupid comment. It means 30% of the genetic makeup is caucasian that is all.

"almost 1/3 of "African-Americans" isn't even African."
I did not say "1/3 of "African Americans" aren't even African"
you can't prove race exists
Look around you, dear.
Please clarify yourself. Are you saying that 30% of the white race is already mixed with another race or are you saying that ALL white Americans are 30% mixed. Either way, you are wrong about those statistics.
The point is that's what this topic is about. I'm just pointing out that race and nationality are different. That African American is not a race.
If race doesn't exist, then the premise of this topic is faulty. Since you can't prove race exists, then the premise is faulty because a necessity is not true, or has not been proven to be true. Nothing human is racial unless objectively proven otherwise, and thus, African-American is not a race and neither is anything else.
To answer your question, if race did exist, then African-Americans would be a largely mixed race people. Americans, themselves, would be heavily mixed race with the white population already having at least 30% admixture with something else.

Technically, Negro is the term for the black race, that's why I NEVER use the term "African American"

Technically, race may or may not exist, so the term negro may or may not be valid. So, what is your point?
