I just spoke with David and learned that the Support Leader demotions are not reversible and thus everybody must reapply.

I know many of you are going to complain and bitch about this but there is really no point in doing that.  Absolutely nothing can be done ti change anything.  In fact, we see this as a positive opportunity for LiveWire.

With all the current updates, the job of Support Leaders has become more important.  In the eHelp system there is no way to hid or take back a comment sent by a Support Leader like there was in the Serious Forum.  In addition, Support Leaders are now part of the Novice mentor system.  In this role they must answer questions and be welcoming whenever they are approached by a new member.  They cannot simply chose when they feel like giving a helpful reply and when they just want to click "read" and let somebody else deal with the problem.  Also there is no way to monitor their interaction with new members.   Because of these reasons it is important that only the most helpful members are accepted.

Moderators will be reviewing applications with these changes in mind. We do not expect you to have 10 new helpful links from the past 24 hr so you may use old links.  However, some of them should be recent.

- We will not accept applications that simply say, "I was a support leader before, give me back my status."

- You must submit an application with helpful post links and an explanation as to why you want to be a Support Leader.

[color=indigo]You think you have it tough.  Imagine with all the work of reviewing applications we're doing, you still submit 5 times in such a short period of time.  You are not the victim.

Just wanted to say that I'm sorry this happened, it wasn't intentional, but in a way I am pleased because it allows us to review all of our support leaders to maintain the integrity of the support leader title.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding. I know it isn't the best having to find 10 links, and for the mods, it isn't the best having to review hundreds of applications.

Its good to look on the bright side of everything. But unfortuanately I can't look on the bright side of being stripped of my SL status and having my application turned down 5 times.

Are you kidding me?  I live for reviewing support leader applications.  I could review them in my sleep (which is going to be the case since this is pledge week).

Anyway, just a note to all those reapplying.  Don't base the entire text of your application on "I want to help people."  We know you want to help people, otherwise you wouldn't apply.  The question is why should we approve your application above and beyond the hundreds sifted through.  It's will be worse for you now, because if your application doesn't stand out from the 8 others that are making that annoying little alert arrow flash, then it will more than likely get shuffled into the chaff to be burned.

Yes probably.  It turns out there were about 4 people who were not demoted for some reason.  I have no idea why at all.  But if you already reapplied then nm this message.

OK so what if it was done by mistake, we should have to reapply-i think that's kinda stupid.

How do you know it was Scott?

Because he was the last active Moderator. All the others did do anything for like 5 minutes.

Whoa! 105 new eHelp messages. Either this is a bug, or while we didn't have any support leaders people really needed advice.

Haha, do any of them have replys?  If not, then I'm guessing this is not a glitch.

They all have replies, and some "new" ones date back to 9.27.05 Umm....there is no way I can answer all these.

It's a glitch.  I remember back in the day when that happened.  i had 75 "new" e-helps.  I was like, "well fuck I have to wait for that to get fixed."  2 hours later it got fixed but my eyes hurt cause of the flashy thingy.  I later learned after that day you could turn it off.
