What do you typically get? Canned or fresh? How much? And I don't know how to get it. What do I need for proof?

There are around 30 in the area. My city doesn't take going hungry lightly, apparently. I applied for food stamps and have my interview next week. I'm going to tell my manager I need a split shift so I can go get it.

I'm really hungover. My friends birthday was last night and my boy was buying, and holy shit. He got food poisoning, the poor bastard.

My friend brought me toilet paper yesterday. He was like, you NEED to apply for assistance and you HAVE to go to the pantry. So here we are.

I think if I'm going to be poor I should volunteer or some shit.

They typically give you canned goods but thats just from my experience.  The one I went to before even gave like a couple pounds of beef too.  So yeah check them out, they'll let you know how much stuff you can grab and how often you can come in to get more food.

Many churches run them, I would recommend calling one and asking them about what information you need to register. I have worked in one before and basically all you do is go in and pick out the things you want from the shelfs. You can take what you like and they just write down what you are getting for records mostly. I would say only get 1 weeks worth of food each time but they will tell you what you can have. Sometimes they will have premade boxes for single people and you get to pick extra items to add to it. Each one has different rules.

Thank you!

Why not move in with your bf and combine your incomes?

Because he lives an hour away, and he's still in college. In fact, he works for the university and they pay him less than what I get. But his education is free so he's not bad off.

And no, I won't ask him for money. He doesn't need to know. And I don't ever want to live with him. We both don't want that. That just ruins things. No living together, no marriage, no children.

Wow.

What the fuck is that even supposed to mean?

I'm sorry that my relationship isn't as traditional as you would like. But i don't want him up my ass 24/7. It's so much better when you see each other to be able to share your lives and have it be new instead of getting stale and bitter because you see them all the damn time and do all the same things together.

I'm happy. He's happy.
