| Meh, in a few weeks she is moving and I go back to work. I won't be so bored once I get back to work, then I'll be back to being like most of my friends (too tired to really do much other than party it up on the weekends) and not feeling as shitty. |

| idk why you make excuses for her. not to mention it seems like you're just doing it because otherwise you're alone, and that's pretty lamo imo. at any rate if you do hang out with her despite all the shit she pulls because you have noone else then you really have no right to complain about her behaviour. |

| part of it is that I feel really bad about the shit pile her life has recently turned into, part of it is that we have a fair amount of shared hobbies (especially nerdy ones), part of it is every few years i try to actually try to get a gf, part of it is that i want to help give her bestie a little bit of a break, part of it is because i know she isn't really this fucked up and it is in large part a result of all the stress related to the divorce and being homeless, and part of it is that most of my friends now have jobs and kids to where it gets hard to hang out with them and while her life is currently in the shitter i have someone that i can call almost 24/7 to just keep me company. though she's leaving pretty soon so i'm about to be back to being bored and alone more often than not. |

| Sounds like a bitch. The fact is, women want equality, so if you ask me, they can (literally) carry their own weight. |

| So why are you friends with this bitch? I didn't think Abs had an ounce of chivalry in his body. |

she was all zomg so you aren't going to carry my stuff for me (it was pretty light anyways) so i'll just go find some real man in the hotel to do it for me
this definitely works on way more guys than just a significant other.....it's not about jealousy |

| again, it has nothing to do with actual weight. it's still a 'hassle' carrying it to the car from the girls perspective. and maybe she was also doing it to test the boundaries to see how far you will go. |

| I think I had brought most of my stuff to the car by then. My bags in total added up to a backpack, a satchel, walmart bag full of food n booze, and a large plastic bag full of my dirty clothes. Her 20-30 lb suitcase wasn't much. |

she will try to shame me with stuff that only works on a 'boyfriend'
lol no. girls pull that cutesy crap with any guy they're friends with to avoid having to do it themselves. has nothing to do with being in a relationship, it's just easier not to carry it. and agreed with wilder. you did it anyway, it makes you seem like a pushover tbh. you clearly want to bone this girl but she has no interest of doing the same, so while shes there making you her bitch you're willingly going along with it. |

It wasn't so much the 'shaming' that convinced me to do it, but rather the high noise level and the thought of being in a car with her for the rest of the day.
I'm sure you could say the same for a toddler that learns that throwing a fit and sobbing will get his/her parents to yield. They might do it for peace and quiet rather than out of a sense of sympathy or shame for their child's emotional pain, but at the end of the day a win's a win. |
