And said friend said "do you hangout with anyone but Russians? LOL" or fill Russian with your ethnicity/nationality
How would you take that statement? Someone said that to me last night via text and I got really irritated because it went like this.
"what are you doing?" Me: heading to pick up my friend Rob "the Russian one? Lol" Me: yes "do you ever hang out with anyone but Russians? LOL" Me: I hangout with whoever wants to hang out with me.
I barely even talk to this person so that statement caught me off guard. I asked them if they had a problem with who I hang out with, and of course they said no.
Am I overreacting?
yea I think you're tripping sour
i've had similar things happen because i tend to be a part of a number of social groups, and i feel bad when i don't do stuff with one but i'm invited to another. and all i can really say is "hey i was invited and they're chill, we weren't doing anything so why not?"
i guess what i'm trying to say is that it may not have anything to do with russians or your ethnicity, just that you hang out with a specific group of friends a lot and to them they were making a joke or comment about how it's more than compared to a different social circle. maybe they meant the comment seriously about wheher you preferred them or not, idk, that's for them to say but tbh i think they were probably saying it innocently, it may have just come off a bit strange to you, as it can do.
my mom has asked me multiple times how many black people and asian people are in my classes, and i'm like "........i don't fucking pay attention to that"
