Okay so about 4 months I came forward to my parents about my eating disorder. I was eating about 400 calories a day and then chewing up and spitting out everything else. Once I told my parents, I was able to get my diet up to about 900 calories a day. I was swimming 8 practices a week so obviously this still wasn't enough.

I started seeing a psychologist, and soon afterwards a nutritionist. I also decided to stop swimming for good, so I started running 45 minutes a day instead. I was so sure that seeing a nutritionist and having a meal plan would surely help me get through this. Boy was I wrong. My parents think that I have been getting better, that I've been eating sandwiches and meats, etc. But truly, I'm right back where I was before. I eat a 500 calorie breakfast, no lunch, and a 400 calorie dinner consisting of a microwave dinner and an apple. When my mom asks what I've eaten for the day, I just lie to her.

I know it's awful and that I have to put on weight, but I'm so scared to do it. I have to go to the nutritionist on Friday and I'm supposed to have gained two pounds, but I'm positive that I haven't done it. I either have to gain the weight for the week or they're going to take away my exercise from me.

So my question to you is..do you have ANY advice AT ALL for me? I'm frikin' desperate. I feel like because I've continued to lie to my parents that it's my job to get myself going this time, but I just can't do it without being afraid that the weight I'm going to put on is going to be pure fat. HELP PLEASE.

you need to stop exercising so much. not forever, because obviously exercise is very good for you but if you cant eat more, you need to exercise less. if you have an urge to exercise, do something like Pilate's which doesn't burn much calories but it tones so you should still feel good. you need to stop lying, not because its wrong but because its going to make your diet worse.

Hey there. U really know how to hog. But don't fret, u gotta eat vegetables alot so as to check your diet. Try to avoid eating calory-containin foods as much as possible. U'll go thru this husstle. good luck.

its good that you want to get better and get help, and that you want to motivate yourself. Can you confide in anyone other than your parents, who can be your "weight gain" buddy (rather than when people go on diets and they have a "weight loss buddy") Then they can just check up on you and encourage you, just so you have something regular to stick to.

eds suck ass.
You just gotta be stronger then it.
Cant let it beat you...
Its not as simple as 'just eating' becasuse there is so much mental torment behind it.
TELL your psychologist this, tell your nutritionist this, they are the ones who can help you the most

I thought that too, once I started eating again. I'm not sure how many calories I was taking in, but it couldn't have been more than 600 a day.

I started off with lean proteins... anything to start building back the muscle your body is consuming for nourishment.

There will be a LITTLE FAT... but don't get scared. Your body will kind of balloon for a week or two, but then it evens out, and since you're swimming so much, most of it will go away.

Eat alot.

That's the only way you can really get out of this.
