If starving yourself doesn't work, and it eats your muscles, rather than your fat, why is there barely any fat on my body anymore, but the same (or at least from what I can tell) amount of muscle? Not to mention, I haven't gained any of it back and it's been two weeks of eating normally again. I used to be able to grab the fat, feel the muscle underneath, and now all I can feel is the muscle...

I know I'm stupid or whatever, but I was already pretty thin and I could NOT LOSE my "love handles" no matter how healthy I ate or how much I exercised.

I think starving yourself affects people differently. Though maybe you hadn't got to the stage where your muscles started to waste away.

This.

Eat, honestly. I'm not joking around. Do you WANT to die? Eat. It really is that easy.

She's been eating normally for two weeks!

You need to eat normal but exercise.  Do lots of cardio daily.  Do not cut out food because that won't work.

 It obviously does.

No it doesn't.  Get off your lazy ass and exercise or don't complain.

Yes, it does.  Cutting out food makes you lose weight.  End of story.

It may not be the right way to do things and may not be healthy, but that does not change the fact that not eating causes weight loss.

If you're running and still not losing weight, the problem could be excess insulin in your blood.  If you eat a lot of sugary snacks, drinks and white flour, you will produce excess insulin.  Insulin will keep your body from burning fat and store fat in the process.  When you need carbs, high fiber whole grains will keep your insulin from spiking.

If you drink a coke and run a half hour later, you won't burn any fat.

You could have lost the weight faster by eating ~2500 calories a day and running your heart out.  If you run 20 miles, you can burn off all 2500 calories.  Then the body continues to burn fat, about 15% of what you burned during exercise, for hours and hours after you exercise.  It's possible to lose pounds very fast this way if you're careful.  Most people can't just get out and run 20 miles, but you can work up to that over the course of a year and become very healthy.  Healthy is sexy, btw.

When you eat, your body wants to burn through calories.  If you stop eating, your body will drag the calories out as long as possible even if you exercise.  If you push yourself too hard on a starvation diet, you'll just lose consciousness as the brain will protect itself from starving to death.  So you can lose weight by not eating, but it will take a long time and you'll lose brain cells, bone density, muscle, and lifespan in the process.

Did your dumb ass not even read the topic? If not, please don't comment. I'm not lazy at all actually, lazy would pertain to someone who doesn't know how to read a few sentences

What does your exercise consist of then?

I run, miles and miles at a time. I play varsity soccer, so the anaerobic are taken care of there. I'm in good shape, just the love handles bothered me.

Thank you, and it's fine. Sorry for freaking on you lol.

The body goes for fat before muscle. How many calories are you eating now?

like 1600...I wasn't fat, and I'm not anorexic, and it was only for about 2.5 days and the love handles went away so idk.

Um, well, it really depends on what you mean by starving yourself. If you are eating less than 1200 calories a day, then you are literally in starvation mode and will certainly feel muscle loss when you get on a bike or work out. If you are eating nothing, you WILL feel it - eventually, and you will pay for it.

But if you are consuming a normal amount of food for your body weight, in a sense, starving yourself off of what you normally ate, then you would lose just fat and not muscle. Certainly if you work out.
