| Wow, it's so obvious. It's called water weight. Your body retains/loses water relative the sodium/potassium balance. If you upset that balance (ie: starving), your body may retain high amounts of water causing the scale to appear higher. You need to eat a regular amount of food a day with a healthy sodium/potassium ratio and you'll find the scale is more consistent. Keep in mind if you starve yourself, you'll wreck your thyroid and you can kiss losing weight goodbye. tk |

| it could be a lot of different factors, including having a crappy, inaccurate scale. some of the digital one's will weigh you at one weight, you step off, and step back on a minute later, and it's something different. |

| If 3 pounds really mean so much to you then maybe you have a problem with your views on weight. It's unhealthy to weigh yourself freaquently, and it's worse to get so worked up about your weight changing by such a small amount. Just try not to get obsessed by them thats all I'm saying.. |

| I wouldn't worry about your weight fluctuating a couple pounds. There are many different factors that could make it change in a short period of time. |

| Did you weigh yourself immediately afterwards? Sometimes you're standing differently, putting pressure on different points. It can make it fluctuate. And if you did it considerably later, it's just because you gain weight as the day goes on. You're lightest in the morning. |

| What does it matter? It's NORMAL for weight to change between a few pounds during the day. To know your actual weight, you should weigh yourself in the morning when you haven't eaten anything yet, wearing only your underwear or something. Get real and stop thinking about your weight. Measurements is what people see, not your weight. |

| actual dieting and not eating can actually lead to putting on weight as when you start to eat again your body is not used to it and has nothing to store as energy so stores everything as fat ! |

I got on the scale this morning and it said 136. That was good for me because I havn't eaten in a mean in a couple of days. Then I got back on it just to make sure if it was right and it said 139! Which is accurate? Like those 2 pounds in between is a serious difference for me. I'm soo confused I'm getting a new scale!
Its 3 pounds by the way. Your weight changes at diffferent times of the day, You are lighter in the morning, and heavier in the evening after you have eaten. Just get weighed at the doctors or in the chemist, some chemists have precise scales. |

Eh every time I get on like scale, I always tell myself plus five lbs. It's more accurate to me that way, because I know for damn sure that my scale lies to me. I think it knows I hate my weight, so it lies. Lol. |
