This probably shouldn't go under eating disorders, because I don't have one, but my eating patterns are so weird.
Like, on some days, I'll eat a lot all day and then have a big dinner and dessert.
And then, on other days (like today), I won't eat anything. I'll feel my stomach growling, and I'll feel hungry, but the thought of eating kind of grosses me out and I won't eat. I won't even feel sick or anything. I just feel like I don't want to be bothered to eat.

Weird, huh?

Caitlin, it is important to note that weird eating patterns can sometimes spiral out of control. A recent post on the CED blog talks about The Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt conducting a joint study with Seventeen Magazine.

The article gives advice about identifying and treating a potentially serious disorder known as 'freaky eating': http://eatingdisorder.org/blog/2008/07/21/food-rituals-when-weird-becomes-harmful/" target="_top">http://http://eatingdisorder.org/blog/2008/07/21/food-rituals-when-weird-becomes-harmful/

Yeah I'm the same way, sometimes I'll eat everything in sight and sometimes I'm hungry but I don't feel like eating anything.

That's ok, I'm the exact same way.  Just try to eat even if you're not hungry, it's not good to go without food if you're feeling hungry.

almost like bulimia (not that you're bulimic!). you binge then you purge, but you purge by... not eating? idk, eating moderate amounts every day is the healthiest thing

Sounds like you eat so much one day you aren't that hungry to eat the next or you think you ate to much then so don't eat.

My cat is sort of like that.  Some days she finishes all her food and then other days she doesn't eat that much at all.

not really it could be because your hot...weather can affect your eating habits you tend to eat less or nothing if its hot outside and when its colder we tend to eat alto more so that could be contributing to it...just a suggestion

I don't think it's that weird, actually.

Everyone in today's society wants to fall all over themselves diagnosing any irregularity as an eating disorder when it isn't.

Not weird at all. I'm the same way.

As long as you're alive, whatever.
Although I'm sure that's not good for you.
