There is no specific technique to drawing well - no "right" way to hold the pencil or how to erase properly. You just grab the pencil and off you go! All you need is practice.

If I hadn't completely forgotten how to draw myself..I would help.

I'm not a good drawer, but what I do scribble, it's unique and I like it.

Drawing is about practice, and natural ability. If you have the patience and steady hand as well as artistic mindset to be able to draw, you easily can, but you can't be taught.

My friend Dustin for example. He can draw anything without even the slightest bit of effort, yet he's dumb as a rock and completely un-coordinated.

I think I all ready have the natural ability, I've drawn hands and shit :

but like, I need to know technique!
like how to hold the pencil, what to use, how to use it, how to go about drawing from a reference (I just eyed that..)

It's easy.

You get a pencil, then you get a piece of paper, and you hold the pencil to the paper, and move your hand to make lines!

And if you're really clever (this is only for the experts) you can make pictures. Like a butterfly. Or a flower.

nobody can TEACH you how to draw.

it's about YOUR creativity and imagination, not somebody elses.
