If you want to use it in a better way, I agree with rawr- try using a photo that has more than just the closeup of an eye. Maybe all of their face or simply half the face? I would just play around with different angles with the effect. You're talking out your arse. If he lowers the opacity on the fire layer (I'm assuming that's what you're getting at), then it'll be even less obvious as to what it is. And if by "posturzied" you mean "posterised", then the two layers will most likely look mismatched and disjointed. It'll look amateurish, basically. Convert the eye layer to bw, and keep the explosion layer in colour. You'll get a more effective result. Agreed, otherwise, that's awesome.
