yeah we'll never know what it looked like back in Da Vinci's day but the "resoration" didn't help

it completely changed the color, tone, and even facial shapes

They should have left it how it was and drawn new interpretations on new canvases instead of trying to fix the old one by painting right on it and taking it out of public view for 21 years

In 1970, untouched:

now:

^you know this is not how DiVinci painted it in the 1400's

lulz, theyre both photgraphs of the painting.

if you found another copy of the last supper online its tone and colour will look different to those pictures.

They both look the same except ones darker than the other.

bearsy, you have interesting concepts for threads but you are too young and inexperienced to ever research them enough to be definitive

LOL in my graphics class there's a version of the last supper... looks exactly like that one, but someone Photoshopped in some KFC buckets XD idk if it was a student or if it was 'research' for a project off of the interwebs, but it looks fucking awesome xx

It was restored back to it's original condition as the previous restoration prior to that had severely changed the painting.
It has never been restored to its original condition and never will be.

Let me rephrase... Restored to it's original condition prior to the previous reconditioning's of the painting.

don't worry, pop culture will fill in the gaps that technology can't

I like the newer version. Danker, duller... it just suits it better, and looks a tad more realistic.
