A member on another forum of mine does a lot of sculpting. They are best at dogs, in my opinion, but do a bit of character creation too.
A few members who have been there for a while, and have had their dogs pass away, were surprised with busts and full-body figures of their dogs. I think they are absolutely awesome, for someone who just does this as a hobby, not necessarily a career. Just thought I'd share a few.

This is Sock-M. She was a 2 year old Pit Bull Terrier owned by a member on the forum. She died back in '06 of cancer. A bunch of members commissioned to have this made and sent to the member. The dog was extremely amazing. She did therapy work, as well as being a breed ambassador elsewhere. Here is her picture, and the bust the member sent as a gift in memory of Sock-M. The boxing gloves were an awesome touch, and went along great with the dog's name and personality.

Here's another commission for another member. Zac and Bronx (English Bulldog and American Bulldog). Zac passed away, and shortly after, this was made for the owner in memory.

Here is a bust of Sgt. Stubby. Stubby was an American Pit Bull Terrier (or at least, he was indeed a mix of the breed), and the first and most decorated war dog (hero) in American history. At his death, he held seventeen war medals of honour to his name. He was often smuggled onto the ships, but proved himself in to be a great advantage in many areas. Stubby was injured twice in battle, once due to grenade shrapnel, and once due to gas exposure. Both times, he was taken to the same hospital that the two-legged soldiers attended, and when he was released, he was send with them to fully recover at Red Cross centers.

This is JJ, a large mixed breed who passed away not too long ago from health complications. This was another member-commissioned piece sent to the dog's owner after JJ passed away.

And here's a few non-canine sculptures by the same artist.

If anyone would like the name and link to the artist, PM me and I'll be glad to give it to you.
If you ask nicely, I'm sure she would be happy to do a piece for you, for a price, of a pet.

i didn't see the one of JJ!

   aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. :( poor doggeh.

He was huge. Everyone guessed he was a Mastiff mix.  His full name was Jesse James.
I can't remember what he passed away of, though. He was really young though.

There's a bunch more busts and figures like that commissioned though. She just finished the model for a wooden carousel Pit Bull Terrier an artist is about to do.
I wish I had her skills. Completely unfair.

Do you continue to use terrier because you like typing 7 extra letters or because you want to continue to sound beyond knowledgeable of animal breeds?

I know its what they are, but if you say Pit Bull or Pit; I am sure the world will cut you some slack and still understand what kind of dog you are referring to.

  BRING IT ON!

I type out 'terrier' because it differentiates between pit bull-type dogs, and the actual breed.
Please, refrain from spreading anymore of your uneducated bullshit in my threads, or in reply to my posts, just because you have some sort of fetish with having irrational issues with me.

Also, if you're going to try and insult me, try not to do it by comparing the word 'terrier' to '9 extra paragraphs' and making yourself look even more like an idiot.

That wasn't an insult? Anyone questioning you seems to be an insult. I only asked a question.

Go run to the moderators if you have a problem with me stating my opinion because I will continue to do so whenever I please. If I am doing something wrong by this, I am sure they will let me know.

I don't need to run to moderators. I can easily hide your posts due to your lack of contribution/attention seeking, without question.

Good.

rly awesome. what's the scale of those? i want a doggie with green eyes.

the rabbit type thing looks like a 3d model.

The Sock-M bust was about 4 inches tall not including the base. It lists Zac and Bronx to be around 8 x 6 x 3 inches.
JJ was about 5 inches tall. And Sgt. Stubby unfortunately wasn't listed.

The Rabbit is 11 inches tall, but the llama wasn't listed either.
