What is the cost of living like in Boston and Chicago compared to NYC. How easy is it to find waitressing jobs or gotel work in all three. This is some research for a BUNAC work america programme. Places I might want to go and work in are the West Coast (not LA) probably Santa Cruz or somehwere like that. Boston, Chicago, NYC or some beach resort of the East Coast.

I'm not sure what your income is/ will be, or I would do this for you but try this http://www.bankrate.com/brm/movecalc.asp

It would probably be just minimum wage.

Well the median income per household member (including all working and non-working members above the age of 14) was $26,036 in 2006. So I'm going to use that as an yearly income. And also you didn't say Manhattan or queens NYC, so im using Manhattan.

*For the record in the charts green is indicated as a positive value.

In the comparison of Manhattan NYC to Boston here is a chart based on 26,036.

In the comparison of Chicago to Manhattan NYC here is a chart based on 26,036.

I hope that is what you were looking for, that took some time ;)
