i find it really weird/unsettling how people can just move because of jobs!

i have a good friend (he's 21) who just moved to hong kong because he got a really good internship there, it's for 18 months so he's not even sure if he'll be back after that

and my friends parents have jobs that require them to travel a lot so they're barely ever home

that feels so unsettling to me! im really upset about my friend leaving.. and i cant really imagine moving like that.

i mean unless u wanted to migrate to a different country anyway...

how can everything about a place (old friends, your town, way of life) be so meaningless and 'whatever' to some people?

oh and my cousin is on a study abroad program. which is only for 6 months but stillllll, i think even thats scary

it scares me because it all feels very temporary

lol am i just being a baby

I wouldn't say you were being a baby, just not being very realistic. People leave their birthplace all the time, to go to school, new job, or just for the hell of it. Do you really think people are going to live their whole lives within 5 miles of where they were born?

its different when you are going for a few months.  if you get the oppurtunity you should take it

(take it from someone whos moved at least 5 times in their life)

its not that they do not care about their friends and family, but its a great opportunity and you do not always get those kind of chances so you have to go for it when they do come along. if i could study abroad i would in a heartbeat.
