If my flight leaves at 10:00am and it takes 15 minutes to get to the airport, should I have my taxi driver come pick me up at 8:00 or 7:45 or some other time? My Dad said you're supposed to get there pretty early and I haven't flown since I was about 11.

1 hour for domestic and 2-3 for international.

I have gotten to the airport with less than 30minutes to boarding time and still had lots of time:P but I was a nervous reck the whole time.

It never hurts to be early.

If you want to save more time, you can check in online and then all you have to do is check your baggage, security and your done!

I'm not sure when you have to check in... 1 or 2 hours before the flight goes? I don't know, I've never traveled by plane before. Can you check the info on the airport website?

Arrive 3 hours before your flight at my two airports and you will be sitting BORED for 2 hours. Depends on where you're flying out of. Pittsburgh? Maybe get there 90 minutes before. Harrisburg or Erie, and you could probably show up 60 minutes before and be just fine.

Well, I'm in NY (state) right now, not PA.

Always arrive at an airport 3 hours before take-off. Follow this rule religiously and you should avoid most problems.

It reserves A spot on the plane. Just not a specific spot.

Doesn't matter when your tickets were booked. The seats you get depend on when you check in.

So what's the point in purchasing a ticket beforehand if it doesn't reserve anything?

4.45 would be good, it's good to get their early cos it takes time to walk to check in and then there shouldn't be many ques..

and if you aint got prebooked seats then you should get a decent one.

4:45? Please tell me that's a typo.

My tickets were ordered weeks ago.

My local airport states that you should arrive at least an hour ahead of a domestic flight, or 3 hours ahead of an international flight
Fishboner Posted at 7:51 am on Nov. 12, 2008
Depends on if you're taking an international flight or a domestic flight.

3 hours before an international flight's departure time.

1 hour to 45 minutes before a domestic flight's departure time.
