I dont care what people say about the french, they have the most beautiful language in the world, and anytime I  have spent time in France everyone has always been so gracious and lovely to me,not snotty in the slighest. Most countries are obviously just jealous of france. It seems you are good at languages, so you might pick it up easier than you think, or you could try and get some lessons in before you leave.
