I've made plans to go during Christmas break, to make plans to go in the summer, to make plans to live there next year.
Has anyone lived there/love it?

The only downside is the smog, which I'd be living away from. And the crime. But, every huge city has a high crime rate. The smog, the crime, the kidnapping, the overwhelming slums that make up a big part of the city, the lack of anything real tourist friendly besides the Mexican food/drink/song/dance. Ya id save my money for a real vacation somewhere fun and safer. And the architecture and the business opportunities and the way of life that many people have there (the whole city is not slums, and certainly not where I'd be living), on top of the Mexican food/drink/song/dance, I'd say we have a winner. The fact you haven't resorted to mindless babbling and angry nerd rage has shown your one of the few intellectual livewirians. I was just bored and looking to provoke a reaction . Still why Mexico City over Vegas or something like that?

I'm a huge nerd, it's insane. And that's partly why. A year in a foreign country looks great on college Apps. The school I'm looking at is a cool school, too. Plus, my aunt lives in Mexico City, and she's like 20 so I'd be pretty tight.
