If she's only 8 weeks gone, that means that she's only known for like 4-5 weeks since you can't find out until you're 4-5 weeks along. I think that's a little premature to kick him out for not "stepping up" yet. What exactly is he supposed to be doing while the fetus is the size of a grain of rice? He could be out looking for a job but a lot of times it takes more than a month to land one. Just because he's not busting his ass 30 days after hearing the news doesn't mean he's a deadbeat dad, although he's a lot more likely to be one now since he's homeless and support-less. woodbridgeguy1 Posted at 6:46 am on July 10, 2008 I wouldn't kick him out because it would be at that very time that he would need help the most. You can't just disown a child because they made a mistake. I would deal with the situation and help my child as much as I could. Having a child means being an adult, and adults live on their own and pay their own bills. I will have already raised my children by then, and I'm not looking for another. Now, that's with my daughter. If my son got a girl pregnant, I would expect him to be doing some serious thinking. If he's offered to help pay for an abortion and she refuses and insists on keeping the child, and if he makes it very clear that he does not want to take any part in the pregnancy or the baby, then I wouldn't do anything about his living situations. As far as I'm concerned, he's played his part. However, if he wanted to help with the baby and be a father, then I would tell him that he needed to get a job and start supporting. Would I kick him out? No, probably not. He's going to have to find his own way, and if the baby came and he still wasn't doing his part (after clearly stating that he would), I would encourage the mother of his child to sue for appropriate child support. Votes. :O AndWhenHeFalleth Posted at 12:08 pm on July 9, 2008 Mistakes happen.  I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I abandoned my own child over a momentary lapse in judgment that could have happened to anyone.  I wouldn't be thrilled with him, and I wouldn't be willing to handle everything for him, but I'd be there for him and help him find resources to get his life back on track.  It's part of being a parent, and in that situation, its also part of being a grand parent.
