what if you could provide it with a new temporary male role model every week or so. the child would be exposed to the entire spectrum of men and grow up cultured and tolerant.

this is totally how i'm gonna raise my child if i ever carry one to full term

I think that it is important to have role models and father (and mother) figures. That is not to say that they need THEIR father in their life, or even a male (females can still give "father figure" roles and models to a child as well).

i dont think they NEED a father....my bf took off to arizona when i found out i was pregnant!!!! muh baby wont need a man......shell have me!!

Having a parade of men in and out of your child's life doesn't promote tolerance, it promotes confusion and instability, neither of which is child friendly.

Kids need stability. They become very attached to people very quickly and having a guy in their life for a couple weeks and then gone would be very painful for a child. And then to force that on them again and again and again is just cruel beyond belief. If you aren't going to have a steady male around, you need to not have any male around, not just settle for them coming and going like that.

A child doesn't need a father figure as long as it has a good mother and being a doormat for men isn't that.

Well if there was a new man every week, I as a child would be scared of them all. Not every child is un-shy...

Psychologically not a good idea. I really don't get why you would think that it would promote tolerance or "culture".

mabey if u introduce the baby to diffrent guys, then it will become tollarent of diffrent backrounds/ religions...but the whole, this is your dad every other week, is not going to help at all!

no, i didn't have my dad around. i don't think brining in a new guy every week would be good for a kid, they need stability

I agree.  One father figure is good to have.

That wouldn't be a good idea.
The kid would grow up seeing their mother go from man to man.
It's better to have one stable role model that the child can count on to be a part of their life indefinitely.

thats stupid.
sry but i think it is.
a child needs a father not just some random guy once a week.
i mean, its one thing if theres no other way, but from what you're sayin it sounds like you just dont want the kid to havea father. which i think is just really selfish. =/

That wouldn't be a good idea. It would be better for a child to have no father than multiple guys coming in and out of their life.

The baby might get confused on who actually is the father.
