Is it like a fashion trend or something now? I've been seeing all these young girls getting pregnant now. One of my friends got pregnant in her senior year and now this freshman who just entered HS is pregnant. I mean its like their getting younger now.

^^ It's kinda hard to use birth control correctly when no one teaches you about it.

We need an actual sexual EDUCATION class. It's appalling how little teens actually know about pregnancy and contraceptives.

I think its ridiculous, I mean I could see if some of these girls were taking the proper steps to not get preggo, but most aren't. I mean look at the pregnancy pact in one of those schools (I forget where but I heard about it on the news awhile back). Girls think having a baby is cute and fun and think everything will be grand, till they actually get pregnant and are tired and weak and sick. Then they have the baby and they are tired and want to go shopping and out with friends.

My cousin is only 19 and she has an almost one year old and is expecting her second son around the same time her first son will turn one. It's called birth control, use it. And use it CORRECTLY!

The rate has actually gone up in the past couple years, thanks to Bush's abstinence only 'education' system. So yes, it's a bit more trendy now.

well, it's no fashion trend. but i am 17 and i am 6 weeks pregnant, so does that make me a bad person or something??? and my baby's father is 20 ,is that so bad considering the fact that i will b 18 in November??

Try this.  My friend got pregnant.  Shortly after we found out I was pregnant... through protection!  After that like 5 other girls got pregnant in a row.  Thing was these girls weren't even trying to use any kind of protection.  It really had just become a trend with some girls.  Only some girls.

I think that media and other people are glorifying it too much! I mean, I'm 20 years old and want a baby, but I'm not doing ridiculous things to get one. I also think that these girls that are doing it aren't thinking about the full time job so much as 'oh! it'll be so fun to have a wittle bitty baby around!' Do you know what I mean? I know that sometimes, people aren't the most responsible, and I'm not calling any baby a mistake or any young mother an idiot. But when girls like the ones that were on the news not too long ago make a pact to get pregnant and have babies together...I think it's ridiculous. I mean, you can make that pact, but throw in the bit about 'once we're out of high school and graduate college and have husbands' into the mix...don't go to a 37-YEAR-OLD HOMELESS MAN just so you won't be the odd girl out of the pact.

phew.

that shit pisses me off. is it that hard to stick a rubber on the nigga's dick er what?
runthespread Posted at 4:17 pm on Sep. 9, 2008
Beats me. I'm not a fan of it, people have to grow up. I'd want to be able to give my child the best so I'd have to be ready for it.

Unless you think like Palin and you don't have a choice, even if you're raped.
