Chiefette Posted at 11:49 am on Sep. 15, 2008 You should have told him right there.  He won't believe you now.  You need to go to a doctor and get confirmation that you are pregnant to show him.  Then you need to get him for child support if you are going to keep the baby.  Medical expenses as well, even if you are giving the baby up.  If you are choosing abortion.  Make him pay for it. dunebug Posted at 11:41 am on Sep. 15, 2008 Normally I think that it's important to give the father a say, but in the case where he's abusive or the relationship is unhealthy, I think that you have to put your safety and the safety of your child in front of "fairness" of him knowing. If you've decided that he's not going to be a good influence in your life or not likely to be a healthy, quality father then it may honestly be best not to tell him at all, as even if you did, it sounds like you would be seeking full custody and no visitation rights for him. Being a single mother is scary but certainly do-able. You may be better off forging that path for now.
