Alright so as some of you know i found out i was pregnant. at first i was so scared and i didnt know what to do. but know i know i want to keep my baby and i want to be the best mother possible. however most of the people i told keep telling me not to have the baby because they think i will be throwing my life away as a teen mother. im 18 and i think they can go to hell i will do what i want to do. but its really annoying because its not like i planned for this to happen but it did and im happy. any advice on how to get this through to everyone else?

Grow a thick skin? Sounds rude but honestly, this is the start of something that never stops. I got pregnant at 18, I'm just about to turn 23 and people don't accept or respect me anymore now than then. I still get the stares, comments, whathaveyou. It's one of the sad aspects of having a child young.

You learn to deal and it's easier once you have your child because you learn to focus on them and tune the rest out. You also learn not to take it so personally because if you're succeeding and being a great mother, everything they're trying to tell you about yourself is apparently wrong. ;-)

Keep your head up, stay focused on what matters; preparing yourself for parenthood.

tell people ur an adult not a child. im really glad that ur going to keep the baby and be a good mother. my friend whose 15 is 2 months pregnant and is going to keep the baby. im not sure if she's going to care for it or her mother though.

just follow your heart and DO NOT listen to anyone else. If you want this baby then you go ahead and have it. This is where you find out who your real friends are. Your real mates will stand by your side, all be it stating their opinions, but saying 'hey if its what you want im happy for you'. Its your life. Its your decision. Make the right one for you and dont let aniting else sway you. Best of luck

You are 18, that is plenty old enough to be a parent.  If the father isn't around, make sure you get child support.  Don't worry about what everyone else says, it's your life.

It's nice to know there's people that are more dumb than I am.
