I think they feel like it's an obligation to tell me. I sometimes make people compliments without meaning them! Just to avoid being rude. How about you? Are your compliments honest? For the guy, if you tell your girlfriend that she's beautiful...do you really mean it? Because I don't even believe him!

The only compliments that I lie about is when one of my best friends wears her ugly shoes and she'll ask Cait, Dave, and I if we like them. And we're all like, "Yeah, those are cute, where did you get them?" And she'll tell us. Then we're all, "Wow, those are hideous." But, I mean, it's not like we're being mean about it. If she doesn't ask out opinion, we don't say anything. But, yeah. That's pretty much the only time that I ever falsly compliment someone. I'm completely honest, thought. :) nik1 Posted at 11:20 am on Dec. 4, 2008 I try to find something good about everyone regardless if they have natural beauty or not.  If someone is wearing a new sweater I tell them how nice it is.  If their hair looks good, I tell them.  If they do something exceptional, I tell them.  When I do this I am not lying. My gf is the most beautiful person I have ever seen in my life and I tell her often.  However I wouldn't have to say a thing because she tells me she sees it in my eyes.  I adore her!
