bf stopped by last night randomly to ask me something... so when he got there he asked me if I would get commited to him before he leaves for college. and i said yes. and then he said "i know im going to love you forever, and that we are going to spend the rest of our lives together, i am ready to get engaged to you before i leave." and i tried to say something to him but he cut me off. and said "i have thought alot about this. and i want you to as well, i dont want you to have any doubts. so dont answer until your completely sure. and then he said "love lasts forever" and HE LEFT! i really do love him. i know that. and i do want to spend the rest of my life with him. but everyone i have talked to thinks that it can never work, because people change too much in college. is it possible? or should we wait and see how college goes before making such a huge commitment?
i've been in college for 4 months, with my boyfriend for a year and 4 months. our relationship DEFINITELY changed when we finished highschool. changed for the worse, some days, changed for the better, other days. but we still love each other - a lot, and we get through the times that suck. most of my friends (infact, ALL my friends) are not as lucky. they can't deal with the change, and have all broken up.
give it time, don't rush anything. i mean, why would you? you have your whole lives ahead of you to be together.
so follow your heart ;D
