Since I am on a roll with these types of questions...
Someone made me think of this.

How soon after marriage do you plan to have kids?

I guess things come different at different ages.  I have most of that now.  I have everything ready now, but I am still going to wait a year or so, just for the sake of waiting.

Considering I will not get married until both of us have our careers already going, I would say probably a few years. I want to be about thirty when I have kids, give or take couple of years.

Shit, that seems so old. I want to be 25 when I finish having kids...

Well I want to make sure that I have everything else ready first. I want to have a house, I want to have everything finished and done and I want to be bored with my life when I have a kid. I don't want to have any other chores or to do lists or things that need to be bought or paid off or done when I have a child. I definitely want to have enough money, and I definitely still want to live my life before I have a child.

In an ideal world I'd like to get married between the ages of 21 and 25, and have children when I graduate from university, which will be around 23 ish.

But this isn't an ideal world so anything could happen.

In all reality, divorce can happen no matter how long you waited to have kids...A divorce does not necessarily mean a shitty childhood either.

Yes it can always happen, but I rather be more certain it won't happen then will happen. Divorce doesn't always mean a shitty childhood either but there is still no excuse to put a child through that.

I don't want to have kids until after I am done with school and have started my career, so at least 26-27 years old.

I would like to be married around 23, children maybe 3 to 5 years later

Not very soon. I'm not that big a fan of kids, but my fiancée's enthusiasm about them has been rubbing of on me lately.

I'd say we're getting married when we're around 23 and we'll start *thinking* about kids when we're 25.

Several years as I want to ensure we as potential parents are stable enough to support such a responsibility. I do not want to put a kid through a divorce, or a shitty childhood because we decided to rush into things.
