How many more times are you going to allow yourself to get hurt? Yeah his life isn't fair..but you getting hurt a bunch of times isn't any better..I say you just move on and relax for awhile and who knows! Maybe things will happen with him and maybe he'll come around without you..? The next time you get hurt, if you do, might be worse than you ever been physically or mentally hurt by him...that's just NOT right. and you're only 17! you have your whole life ahead of you!! What if you help him out and it takes months, years and then when he's come around and then just blows you off?!! is that really worth it to you? honestly. you have so much ahead of you.. and if you're still in HS or just got out there's an even better reason to just cut things with him.live your life up!
