so my girlfriend and i have been together for going on two years. we have talked about being together for the rest of our lives, starting at the age of 18/17. i really love the time i spend with her, but it just scares me that were so young. we were each others first, she's is honestly my first full fledge relationship. to get to the point, as of late our days are VERY predictable, and all attempts to get her to hang out with friends she was once close to have failed. i am often invited to hang out with friends, which in turn are hanging out with her previously mentioned friends. the conflict between her and her friends is undefined as far as i know, but i feel obliged to turn them down. i have not shown any sign of drifting away, but lately every time we argue, the thought of bringing up a break tumbles in my head. i dont want to seem selfish, but i just dont thinks its healthy to close out all friends, make life long promises at this age.

that is a really good idea in the head, but what happens if its not mutual, and she find it insulting that i find things boring.

why dont you try having a serious talk with her about this all first. let her know you think a break might be good if things cant work themselves out. make plans with your friends, and have her make plans with hers. dont hang out with each other too much. that whole 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' quote is true. its not healthy for someone to be with another 24/7. it sounds like you guys just need your "me" time for a while. it doesnt mean you have to break up. you can stay together but distance yourselfs from each other a little more. hang out maybe once a week or every two weeks if need be and the time you do spend together should be more enjoyed.

but im not sure if she feels the same. i really dont know how to bring it up, and i dont want to hurt her. im fairly close with her family, and i dont think its expected at all,

but now that i think about it, that really shows deeper problems in the communication department.

its not an easy discussion.

Friends are important, and if you block them out.. your relationship is just hurting you

It sounds like it is time to move on. Relationships are not designed to make you an island.

I tend to agree with you. A break would be healthy for both of you right now.
