my ex who i was with for a year and a half and engaged to has a new gf but is telling me he wants to be with me but dont want to break her heart. he promise me he wouldnt have sex with her but i think he has as last night he said he has something to tell me that would upset me. he might be coming round next week but he says we gotta behave like friends as he doesnt want to cheat on his gf. should i trust him to leave her and be with me like he promises or should i tell him to piss off and find someone new

we not doing anything together we just talking as friends mainly and he coming round as ive invited my friends round to hang out while my parents are away

He can't have everything, he has to make a choice. He is ENGAGED.

Either way, you're setting yourself up so I hope you know that. Either you're going to be heartbroken or you'll have to deal with a lot of flack. I really don't think you're being honest with yourself because in your posts, you've said "we just talking as friends MAINLY," "we GOTTA behave like friends as he doesn't want to cheat on his gf," and "he wants to be with me." You are doing the wrong thing if you continue this. If you still do it, just enjoy this time of suspense because it's the greatest calm that will be for a while.

If he has a new girlfriend I don't recommend getting involved in his life again as more than friends, it sounds like he's torn between you and it's only going to end in tears. He has a new girlfriend so let him move on, if you meant that much to him he'd be with you and not her. He says he doesn't want to break her heart but by doing this to you he's breaking yours.

I recommend you just try and move past this, don't let him get away with leading two girls along because he will think it's an OK thing to do, I suggest you tell him, it's her or you and then he has to decide. Don't be strung along just to get hurt, never let yourself get in a position in which you have a high chance of getting hurt.

If he cheats on her with you, I really wouldn't get back with him because it shows that he's willing to cheat on people and there is a chance he will do the same thing to you with someone else. Just, look out for yourself OK.

Uh, why the fuck are you still involved with him?

Leave them alone.

Just don't meet up with him. There's no reason to meet up with him if he has a girlfriend. There's obviously a reason you broke up and it sounds liek he has other motives for meeting you than talking.

You shouldn't go around with him being sneaky, that's not good. Either he leaves her immediately or you take charge and tell him you can't because it's not right. You're just digging into more trouble.
