I heard this interesting problem being talked about on the radio. this girl called in to talk about issues with her ex. apparently they had some relationship problems for a while, but the boyfriend took her out to vegas, so they could have a good time.
while in vegas he bought her this expensive necklace from  tiffany's for christmas.
once they got back from the trip, the girl thought about their relationship, and on new years decided to have a fresh start and break up with him.
so apparently he called her up and insisted she reimburse him for the plane tickets to vegas and the hotel, and that she give him the necklace back. she refused.
personally i think she should return the necklace, but not reimburse him for the tickets.
what do u think

I think he should wait for one day when she isnt home and then bust in and take money, necklace, and enough valuables to replace all the money he wasted on her..

if he asked for it, i would give everything back. but that's not the right thing for him to do.

Unless she made an agreement with him she has no obligation to reimburse him for the ticket, room, meals or the necklace.   I am sure he enjoyed the pleasures of her flesh while there so he is being a bit pompous to ask.  As for the necklace?  She may conclude that the necklace is too much of a reminder of the jerk and want to give it back to him.  However it would only be out of the goodness of her heart as she has no obligation to do so.  In fact she may want to keep it just to aggravate him which is ok too.

They were gifts so he can't ask for them back, thats rude. However, I would probaby give back the necklace.

The necklace, yes.

Lol, I remember I saw something like this on Judge Judy. The plaintiff got demolished. Apparently, once you give someone something as a gift, you lose all rights to ownership of it.

she isn't required to give anything back.  personally, i would give back the necklace.

The law may be on her side but virtue is not.
